Exploring the possibilities

Many thanks to Jason Heath for pointing me to a Youtube video of a great solo on upright bass by Stanley Clarke. This video demonstrates the possibilities of the double bass. There is so many ways to make music with the double bass.

After viewing the video, I salute to Stanley Clarke for his technique of performing on the double bass. Having played the double bass myself, and knowing very much how thick the strings of the double bass are, I think Stanley Clarke must have put in a lot of hard work, blood and sweat to become one of the most important double bassists of the jazz-fusion era.

His right-hand technique of performing on the double bass is simply awesome in my opinion. Even though I am feeling tired from the entire week and the demands of life, watching him play the double bass injects a sense of mental energy, at least for a moment.

And I found out Stanley Clarke has an official website right here: http://www.stanleyclarke.com/

Also check these out and do read about his right-hand technique:

There is always a place for innovators in this world.
