One of my good friends shared this article by Eli Davidson, and I have found it a good read:

Admittedly, I am an idealist many of the times. I recall that especially during my younger days, I can be hard on myself  at times. Thankfully, over the years. I have learnt some of the tips shared in the article even before I have read it. I have learnt to center myself through taking deep breaths. This is quite a good tip to begin with. One of the tips that I have found useful is this:

2. Ask yourself: “What’s needed right now?” Or, “What would help right now?” When your primitive mind says, “Nothing”, persist. Keep asking: “What memory, what plan, what breathing, what comfort would help right now?” In very bad moments, write down the question and your answer. Keep writing until you have some clarity and less confusion and helplessness. It will also help just to remember that, “This too will pass.” At times when you can’t write, say your helpful phrase over and over like a mantra. This literally soothes. When stuck, imagine what you would say to the person you love best. Say that to your own self.

Inspiring Nancy whose blog, Happy Nancy, I have been following has started yet another blog. This blog features video postings. I think it is commendable that Nancy makes time to share with the world how one can live a better life. Sharing the good-luck-rainbow with you

Last Friday, on 3 Oct 2008, before meeting up one of my good friends, Mystic, for dinner, I was at Marina Square area running an errand. I happen to look up at the skies and I saw, a rainbow. A rainbow that looked as if it was just beside the Singapore Flyer (a giant observatory wheel) from where I stood. It was a lovely sight. I stood there for a while admiring this simple and delightful sight.

Personally, I think having to sight a rainbow requires some good luck. If you are like myself who believes that seeing a rainbow means that one is in good luck, and will bring one good luck, here's to share the good-luck-rainbow with you! May it bring you lots of good luck.

When I see a rainbow, I would often be reminded of the lyrics from this song Over the Rainbow from the production, Wizard of Oz.

Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true

May your dreams come true.

Randy Pausch and the Last Lecture

A couple of days ago, I read about Randy Pausch and his Last Lecture video on the newspapers. Thereafer, I came across the Last Lecture video while I was at Cool Insider's blog.

I took Cool Insider's advice to find a time to view the entire video almost undisturbed. I felt moved and inspired by Randy Pausch's last lecture. I suppose what he has shared is what living is about. Do take some time to view it. The Last Lecture is also available in book form. Many thanks to Randy for having shared his perspectives of living one's childhood dreams.

Some of my favourite quotes from his lecture were "Brick walls show our dedication" and "Find the best in everybody".

Speech by Steve Jobs in 2005

While I was visiting Angel's blog, I came across an inspiring speech by Steve Jobs in 2005 which Angel posted on one of her posts: Friday's Speech. Angel has included a transcript by Satjayeet Singh from India of this very speech.



I find it a very inspiring and encouraging speech that puts life into broader perspective. I hope to find what I love in life, and I shall keep looking. May I have the courage to follow my heart and intuition.
